Privacy Policy

In short

• Your films and body scans stay on your phone. We never receive them.
• No ads, no analytics, no email or password. The League is optional: join it and your player name, flag and number of shots are shared on the leaderboards.
• When you buy something, only what is needed to deliver it is used.

The League

Only if you join the League. You pick a player name — the app asks for a nickname, not your real name — and a flag is taken from your phone's region setting (you can change it). For each session of the last five weeks the app then sends its date and its number of shots. Never a film, a picture, a body scan or where you are. Other players see your name, your flag and your number of shots this week on the league list.

Names are checked against a list of words that aren't allowed, and we look after the names on the list. Any player can tap another player's name to report it or to block that player (blocking hides them on your phone; undo it in the League settings). A name that several players report is replaced by one made of hockey words (like "Bar Down 4821").

Your phone keeps a secret key in its Keychain that proves the name is yours; our server keeps only a scrambled copy of it. Leave the League in the app (League → the settings button → Leave the league) and your name and every number sent are deleted from the server at once.

Camera and microphone

The app uses the camera and the microphone only while its camera screen is open, to count and analyse your shots — all of it on your phone. Nothing from them is sent anywhere.

Films and results

When you record, the film (with sound), the body scan and your results are saved in the app's own storage on your phone, together with your session history and settings. They are not uploaded anywhere. A film is deleted from the phone 7 days after it was recorded unless you star it (the session's numbers stay). Deleting a session in History deletes its film; deleting the app deletes everything except one number: how many films you have made, kept in your iPhone's Keychain on this phone only, so the free films are not given twice.

Downloads

The first time you film, the app downloads the files it needs to analyse your shots from content delivery networks. Like any internet request, these services see your IP address. Nothing about you, your films or your results is sent.

The voice coach

The spoken tips use your phone's built-in voices.

HockeyForm Pro

The subscription is paid through Apple; we never see your card or Apple ID. To know whether your subscription is active, the app uses a subscription service, which receives a random ID for this app on your phone and your purchase history for HockeyForm — nothing about your films or results.

Buying the HockeyForm Stand

The stand is sold by St John Parker, our shop. Orders are taken and paid at its checkout, run by Shopify; nobody at HockeyForm or St John Parker sees your card details. To deliver your order and help you with it, St John Parker receives your name, e-mail address, shipping address and what you ordered, stored in its Shopify store, and keeps order records for as long as Swedish bookkeeping law requires (seven years). They are used for nothing else.

This website

Our web host sees your IP address when pages load, as with any website. We don't use cookies for tracking or advertising. If you switch the website to Swedish, your browser remembers that choice; it is never sent to us.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information we have about you, and have it corrected or deleted. Write to hockey.hockeyform@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Swedish privacy authority, IMY (imy.se).
